Brooke Walzel

Brooke is a Houston-based multidisciplinary artist working in printmaking, painting, and sculpture. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University in 2018, with a concentration in painting and darkroom photography. Her diverse practice reflects a strong foundation in traditional processes while embracing experimentation and parallels across mediums.

Brooke’s studio practice is shaped by her role as owner of BLOC Gallery. Through curating exhibitions and working closely with artists, she engages with diverse perspectives that inform her sensitivity to installation, audience experience, and context. This dialogue extends into her own work, where she considers not only the object itself, but how it is encountered and understood within a broader art landscape.
